(100% chardonnay). A pungent nose also features exotic fruit along with
an interesting note of pine resin that merges into rich, full and naturally
sweet flavors that possess excellent density of extract that buffers well
the racy and intense finish. This is terrific Savigny villages. 2014+

(100% chardonnay) Here the nose is quite fresh with a slightly more refined
green fruit and citrus nose that also evidences hints of sandalwood. The
rich, pure and lightly mineral-suffused flavors are seductively textured
from the sap that coats the mouth on the balanced and lingering finish.
An excellent villages and worth a look. 2013+

Picked mid-September in its high-altitude, quarry-like environs above
the village, Javillier’s 2007 Savigny-les-Beaune Montchenevoy is brightly
citric from nose to tail, engendering vivacity and refreshment. Yet it
is also subtly creamy in texture. Narcissus and orange blossom aromas;
peach and nut oils mingled with fresh lemon on the palate; and a penetrating
finish with a slightly shrill and metallic as well as chalky cast, suggest
a wine to be paired judiciously at table now or given a 2-3 years in bottle
to (in all likelihood) tone down a bit. Javillier admits that finding
the sweet spot for fruit from this site is a challenge, and he appears
to have missed it – if only by inches, or days – this year.

(100% chardonnay). Earth and citrus-inflected aromas that are riper still
slide into intense and delicious flavors that possess good energy but
not more deth or length.

Mid green-gold. Not quite clean on the nose. Racy and earnest but overall
a bit dusty. Astringent.

Good ripe, balanced fruit and plenty of personality. Medium-full body.
Very good grip. Long. Lots of interest. From 2006
